Divorce and Elder Care Fraud

Finding Hidden Money: Financial Fraud and Divorce Dissipation - This presentation focuses on the specialty area of divorce financial planning and uncovering hidden or missing money while going through the process of divorce. Marital fraud is occurring right now in the portfolios of many financial planning clients who are going through messy divorces. This course will give the Advisor more information regarding such topics as criminology and fraud detection and prevention. There is a specific kind of fraud that can occur between spouses called Dissipation. This course will explain the warning signs of suspicious activity as well as rules regarding evidence gathering.
Family Financial Fraud - Elder Care Victimization - This presentation is designed to explain the basics of fraud detection and prevention amongst family members as well as outside sources of fraud. Elder care fraud and abuse are highlighted as well as understanding theft possibilities with various professionals the family might employ. The fraud triangle will be explained and solutions to safeguard your assets and your family from misappropriation of funds, forgeries and fraudulent schemes. It is vitally important for any persons who help the elderly with their finances to be educated about fraud and financial ethics when it comes to family financial fraud. Often times, it may only be the financial advisor who can uncover and reveal financial abuse that can be occurring within a client's trusted relationship.
